Crazy Old Peruvian Lady in Lima

sunny 26 °C

Well we´ve been in Lima for 4 days now. It´s a little too long I´d say as there isn´t too much to do here. We´ve walked around the city, been to the beach, had a look around the shops and played a lot of table tennis. On the way back from the beach we walked through a really nice park. I was waiting on some steps for Will to come back from the loo. I noticed an old, Peruvian lady just standing doing nothing, no biggie, but then I turned around and before I knew it she´d walked down the stairs and kicked me and then started shouting at me in Spanish! It was so crazy! Unfortunetly I didn´t have time to get my Spanish translate book out so I had no idea what she was saying. I ran up the stairs away from her terrified! Haha! Will came out the toilets like ´why didn´t you just kick her back?´Thinking about it now I really should have! I thought it was the men you had to worry about but now I´m looking out for the old Peruvian ladies! It was really strange and I still have no idea why she did it! Everyone around looked as bewildered as me!

Other than that we really like Peru. The roads are pretty crazy with cars going everywhere, tooting there horns 24/7 and drivers shouting at each other. We´re getting a bus to Ica tomorrow to go sandboarding. The bus service seems pretty good. It´s the first place we have been where there is someone who shouts to everyone where the bus is going before we board which is really helpful! It´s super hot and we are both burnt already like proper British travellers! I have found a drink which tastes EXACTLY like Irn Bru it´s so crazy! It´s called Inca Kola.

This hostel has been fab. We´ve bonded with lots of travellers over table tennis and have more offers of accomodation in Brazil which is nice. It´s been cool having loads of time to chill out. We´ve managed to plan a lot more of this continent! It looks like 30 days in Peru, get my refund and then head over to La Paz, Boliva then go down to Iguazzu Falls then over to Rio and down the coast of Brazil to Porto Alegre , then Urugauay, Argentina and Chile!
